Description

Turkey bone broth is a nutrient-rich broth made from boiling the bones of a turkey. It is a great source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, and can be used in a variety of dishes. It's a great way to get the most out of your turkey leftovers and create a flavorful, nourishing broth. Making turkey bone broth in a pressure cooker is a great way to speed up the process and make sure you get the most out of the bones. This recipe will show you how to make the perfect turkey bone broth in a pressure cooker.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of turkey bones, preferably with some meat still attached
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 quarts of cold water

Instructions

1. Start by prepping the ingredients. Wash the bones and vegetables, and chop the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Add the bones, vegetables, apple cider vinegar, peppercorns, and bay leaf to the pressure cooker.

2. Add the cold water to the pressure cooker and make sure that the bones are covered. Secure the lid on the pressure cooker and turn the heat to high.

3. Once the pressure cooker reaches high pressure, reduce the heat to low and cook for 1 hour. After an hour, turn off the heat and allow the pressure cooker to cool down naturally before opening the lid.

4. Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve and discard the bones and vegetables. The broth is now ready to use.

Equipment

  • Pressure cooker
  • Fine mesh sieve

Notes

Make sure to use cold water when making the broth, as hot water can cause the bones to release impurities and make the broth cloudy.

If you don’t have a pressure cooker, you can also make turkey bone broth on the stovetop. Just follow the same instructions, but simmer the broth for 4-5 hours instead of 1 hour.

Nutrition

Turkey bone broth is a great source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. It is high in calcium, magnesium, potassium, and other minerals, as well as protein, collagen, and amino acids. This makes it a great addition to any diet, as it can help provide essential nutrients and boost the immune system.
