- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is softened. Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with the back of a spoon, until it is browned, about 5 minutes.
Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, black beans, and kidney beans to the pot. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
