Slow Cooker Homemade Chili Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned, about 7 minutes. Drain the fat and transfer the beef to a slow cooker.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper, and sugar to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or on high heat for 4-6 hours.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve.

Notes
This chili can be served with shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, and/or tortilla chips. You can also top it with jalapeno slices or hot sauce for an extra kick. You can adjust the spices to your liking. If you like it spicier, add more chili powder, cayenne pepper, and/or hot sauce. If you like it milder, reduce the amount of chili powder, cayenne pepper, and/or hot sauce.
