Recipe For Cooking Spare Ribs In The Oven
Description
Spare ribs are a classic, mouth-watering dish that can be prepared in many different ways. Whether it’s grilling, smoking, or baking, there’s a recipe to suit any occasion and taste. One of the easiest and most delicious ways to cook spare ribs is by baking them in the oven. Oven-baked spare ribs are incredibly tender and flavorful, and the oven does all the work for you!
The key to oven-baked spare ribs is to keep them moist during the cooking process. To do this, the ribs should cook in a flavorful liquid, such as a marinade or a sauce, which helps to keep the meat moist and tender. Additionally, the ribs should be cooked at a low temperature for a long period of time to ensure that the meat is cooked all the way through without becoming dry and tough.
Ingredients
For the Ribs:
- 2-3 lbs. pork spare ribs
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Marinade:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
2. Place the spare ribs on the baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, honey, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar until combined.
4. Pour the marinade over the ribs and use your hands to make sure the ribs are evenly coated. Reserve the remaining marinade.
5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 2-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through. Baste the ribs with the reserved marinade every 30 minutes.
6. Once the ribs are cooked through, increase the oven temperature to 400F and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the ribs are golden brown and crispy.
7. Serve the ribs with your favorite sides and enjoy!

This recipe can also be cooked in the slow cooker. Simply place the ribs and marinade in the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
