Ingredients
For the Tamales:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons masa harina
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 dozen corn husks, softened
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup masa harina
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, pork, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix together until well combined.
2. In a medium saucepan, heat the water, vegetable oil, garlic, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and cider vinegar over medium heat. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add the masa harina and all-purpose flour to the saucepan and mix until the mixture is thick and creamy. Remove from heat and let cool.
4. Place the softened corn husks in a large bowl and cover with warm water. Let soak for 10 minutes.
5. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken broth, masa harina, vegetable oil and salt and pepper. Mix until combined.
6. To assemble the tamales, spread 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto each corn husk. Top with 2 tablespoons of the masa harina mixture and roll up the husk.
7. Place the tamales in a steamer basket and steam for 1 hour.
8. Serve the tamales hot, with your favorite toppings.

Notes
Be sure to use fresh corn husks for best results. If you can't find fresh husks, you can also use dried. Just make sure to soak them in warm water for at least an hour before using.
