Fish tacos are a great way to add a little bit of seafood to your diet. This slow cooker fish taco recipe is easy to make and packed with flavor. The fish is cooked in a flavorful broth with a blend of spices and then topped with a creamy salsa and served in a warm tortilla. Ingredients

For the Fish:

2 pounds of tilapia, cut into cubes

1 white onion, diced

3 cloves of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon of chili powder

1 teaspoon of ground cumin

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

1/2 cup of chicken or vegetable broth

2 tablespoons of lime juice



For the Salsa:

1 cup of diced tomatoes

1/2 cup of diced red onion

1/4 cup of chopped cilantro

1 jalapeno, seeded and diced

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon of lime juice

1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper



For Serving:

8 corn tortillas

1/4 cup of chopped cilantro

1/4 cup of diced red onion

1/2 cup of monterey jack cheese, shredded

1/2 cup of sour cream

Instructions

1. Place the cubed tilapia, diced onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, broth, and lime juice in the slow cooker and stir to combine.

2. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.

3. When the fish is done cooking, use a fork to shred it. Keep the fish in the slow cooker and stir in the salsa ingredients. Cook for an additional 15 minutes.

4. To serve, warm the tortillas in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place a scoop of the fish mixture in each tortilla and top with cilantro, red onion, cheese, and sour cream.

Notes

If you don't have a slow cooker, you can cook the fish in a large pot on the stove over medium heat. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through. You can also bake the fish in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
